Nice Little Heater - Easy Install
I have a 3 season room that I wanted to turn into a 4 season room and this heater did the trick. I looked at installing a baseboard heating unit but it required that I tear up my kick moldings, required a remote thermostat, and would not force the heat into the room. When I sized the heater to the room (easy calculation - floor area x 10 = watts you need) I wanted a heater which pushed the heat into room.
The installation was a snap in spite of the installation manual. The bottom line: cut out a 18 1/2" high opening in the drywall between 2 studs (assuming they are 16" on center) and the hard work is mostly done. The wiring threw me for a loop - I am used to using 4 conductor wiring for a 240V application. In this application you use #10-2 conductor wire - which actually has 3 wires in it. The middle ground wire serves the same purpose as the white (neutral) usually does. Make sure to use #10 wire - the unit draws 16.5 amps at full load. #10 will handle 30 amps so you have...
