Just a really bad idea
I purchased this item twice and both times I was disappointed in the quality. I am now stuck with this item and very unhappy. The first experience was horrible. Yes it looks great and has a very realistic flame effect. What they don't tell you is it has a terrible noise that of a meat grinder. I returned that one in exchange for another. After a week of the replacement I discovered the same annoying grinding noise that comes from the motor from within. Unless you plan on having loud background music or a loud television on as well , don't do it. I guess I won't use it as a space heater in my bedroom at night I wouldn't get any sleep!
