VORNADO Personal Vortex Heater VH101 (Red)

Love love
We have 3 of these fans, two in black and one in white. I love the white one it is stylish and modern looking and it works a treat. The first one we had lasted four years of nearly everyday use (fan) and lots of use of the heater too. Ideal for small spaces but probably not bigger rooms.

Personal Heater
I chose this because my feet get cold when I lay on my couch. I set it on a stool, turn it on, and It keeps my feet toasty. This would be great for people that work in a cooler than normal office environment to keep chilled feet warm.
I highly recommend it!

LASKO 5965 PIVOTING CERAMIC HEATER with ELECTRONIC CONTROL

Small, flexible and does the job
I've used it for two winter seasons in a 20 x 20 room over the garage to supplement the faint wisp of air that comes from the main house HVAC system. The room use to be a constant 55-60 degrees. The Lasko is set from November until April on 70 degrees. It has worked very well with no flaws as of yet.

Perfect Fit
I have used my heater for more than four years as a supplement to the central heating in my office in three different buildings. It has worked flawlessly and continues to provide excellent service.

Made in China, need we say more
Received this as a Christmas gift. Used very lightly in my office. Died after a few months of use. Simply won't turn on. I imagine the electronics fried in it from the heat. More likely, there is a chip in there that causes it to die shortly after the warranty is expired.

It's another piece of junk made in China, now destined for a U.S. landfill.

Don't waste your money on Lasko.

Classic Flame Beverly 23MM374-O107 MANTEL ONLY.

Electric Fireplace
This unit is truly prettier than I thought it would be. It matches my other oak furniture perfectly and the fireplace unit makes for cozy ambiance. It was very easy to put together and I got it together in a couple of hours. I did have help screwing in the small screws in the back since I was getting tired at that point in the evening but it was really very simple. I'd highly recommend this unit.

Fireplace is electric forced air, does ok
Mantle and electric fire place is the easiest i have ever assembled. dowel rods and a few lil screw bolts. looks decent, has a darker stain than i wanted, is not real wood. it is particle board with oak face. a little expensive but is not an eye sore.

Lakewood 792/JR 750/1500 Watt Fan Forced Utility Heater

Great little heater
I bought this heater a few years ago for my RV and it has performed excellent. On one trip it to Alaska it was on full power for over 2 months and no problem. A very vell made little compact unit. A+++

I like mine when its running
I like mine when its running. I have only had to fix it about 15 times. I do like it because it was cheap, 17 bucks at Walmart, and puts out plenty of heat. These will cut off sometimes if they have to much dust in them, may be a safety feature. I had one little wire in it that kept coming loose or arcing. Had to fix that about 10 times or so. The last time must have been the trick. Someone at Walmart told me she had about 20 in the back that people had brought back. In other words, nothing but problems. But if you can fix stuff its not that bad. The case is actually very durable. Simple basic design. I may have just got a bad one. Kinda reminds me of an old car I had that ate a starter every 80,000 miles. Got so use to fixing it that it became no big deal, and only took a few minutes. I know.... strange review.

Fire Hazard!
After 2 months of use, the fan stopped turning in this heater. This caused the heater coils to turn bright red and overheat. It started smoking profusely. My circuit breaker did NOT trip, nor did any fuses within the heater unit cut off. Luckily, I just happened to be nearby and smell the smoke. Another few minutes and my house would have likely burnt down. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB for this Lakewood product.

Real Flame 2610-B 18" Convert to Gel Log Set

Just what I expected
Hubby has allergies and didn't want me burning wood in our fireplace. I really wanted a fire for those cold evenings. This was the perfect compromise. It looks pretty real, the gel crackles like a real fire, and it creates a little warmth. I wish it put off a bit more heat, but I'm happy with it. If used a lot, the gel is kind of expensive though.

gorgeous
not as large as a real fire, or even the photo, but the fireplace is very pretty, it does have an odor the first few times you burn it.

Holmes Compact Heater Fan Model: HFHVP3

Runs forever
I've owned this for 4 years, and have used it every night for at least 365 days. Still runs beautifully. Quiet. Turns itself off for safety if it gets knocked over. Perfect! Get it. Not the best looking, but does the job.

nice heater
I really like this portable heater. I left it on at night and it kept me warm.

I have dropped the heater a couple of times and it still worked pretty good. It blows the heat out quickly when you turn it on.

I recommend this heater.

240V GARAGE HEATER (Fahrenheat/Marley FUH54)

Good basic product at a reasonable price
This unit is exactly what I needed for keeping a garage above freezing, and for warming it up occasionally for work. It is adequate for a well-insulated double garage. The heater, while very basic in design, is of good quality. (Made in the USA!) I emailed a question about adding a remote thermostat to the manufacturer and received a prompt and helpful reply. It pays to shop around online, because the same unit sells for a range of prices under slightly different model numbers--check the specs. The local big-box home improvement stores have nothing comparable.

Excellent Product
I've had this heater for over 2 years now and have had no problems with it whatsoever. This is very well built product. All the connections are very solid and secure, using heavy duty materials. The heat settings are adjustable via easy to access jumpers. I have it on the factory standard setting and it heats my 20' x 20' garage in less than 10 minutes. Highly endorsed by me.

Really happy
Have been using this heater for a month or so. It meets all our needs. No odor or excessive heat. Very quiet, and looks good. We are using this in an insulated sun room... about 300 sq ft., the room is still very pleasant even when the temps were below zero last week.

Optimus H-1410 Portable Digital Oscillating Fan Heater with Thermostat and Touch-Screen Control

R2D2 heater is not what I hoped for.
This heater which I use at the office has been nick-named R2D2 by my office mates (guess why). It is a lot bigger than I thought it would be standing almost 2 feet high. Temperature settings are only in centigrade and the thing turns off before reaching the desired temperature and has to be reset to get it going again. The resetting is an inconvenient process. The timer can only be set for 1 hour intervals. I don't like the damn thing. I might give it away and by another type of more user friendly heater.

The special features don't work
This is an relatively expensive fan and it does have the necessary safety features to be allowed by fire code in our office - that is a good thing. But the heater will turn off at a certain point and never turn on again. The oscillation features makes it heat up and smell like it is malfunctioning. Also, the fact that the temperature is only in Celsius just makes it confusing and harder to use than it should be. I wish there was a way to convert this.

great heater!!!!!
i love this heater!!! it definately does its job for how small it is.and i love the touch screen and the automatic shut off if it tips over.

Comfort Zone CZ550 Comfort Zone

Stay Cool Housing
We bought this to heat up specific areas of our drafty apartment. Mostly, we've been using it in our living room, which is miserably cold in the winter. The room is about 10x14, and this little heater maxes out to warm it comfortably. I used it one day to jumpstart the temperature in my son's much smaller room and it was effective in minutes. It really is for smaller rooms.

Pros:
-Does warm quiet well
-Stay cool housing
-Automatically turns off if tipped over
-Two fan speeds for heat, and one for fan alone (I can't tell any difference between low and high, though)

Cons:
-It's quite loud. If you're watching a movie, or trying to talk on the phone, it's a bit intrusive
-The cord gets warm. That seems rather worrying, except that we never leave it on or plugged in unmonitored. I don't feel like it is suddenly going to explode, I just wouldn't leave any electric heater on or plugged in with our old-house wiring (we even unplug our...

Elegant styling
The fireplace has a very elegant styling to it. It heats very well for a small size room. Would not recommend it trying to heat large rooms. But is a excellant fireplace for small rooms.

Electric Fireplace
Fireplace heats up room very well. But, after the fireplace was installed, the metal plate on the bottom rattles when its running.

Love this Fireplace
Had problems with the shipping charges, but seller took care of issue. This winter, this unit has made a big difference in my room, it's been very cold in VA. And it looks great also, adds class to my bedroom, warm and cozy!!!

"Honeywell/kaz Home Environme" HZ-2200 Mini Tower Surround Heater 1500W - Charcoal Gray

Great for the money
This is a great little heater. I got it for my daughter's room a little over a month ago because Consumer Reports rated it highly. For $25 bucks, it does all I ask. What I like is that you can set it you heat 360 degrees or only push the heat to the front. I set it to the latter, because it's so compact a good place for it is on top of a dresser.

Only thing I wish it had was a digital thermostatic control, but after a couple days of fiddling, you get just the right temperature and can leave it there, tweaking it if necessary.

Short-lived
Worked well the first year. Second year it overheated to the point that the plastic was soft and the knobs would burn you if you touched them. It annoys me that so much junk gets sold today. I would much rather have paid a higher price for a heater that was reliable year after year.

Melted Itself open
I bought this heater last year and used it all winter very happily. It worked very well and kept my computer room comfy and warm.

This year i brought it out to use, plugged it in for day use and on the second day it started turning off on me after about 3 min of use. I unplugged it and let it cool off since it got amazingly hot after that 3 min and i discovered the black, round casing with the holes in it that goes around the top, had melted itself open in the back.

I loved this heater last year but can only give it 2 stars due to longevity.

Sunbeam SLP3300-UM Low Profile Heater with Adjustable Thermostat

Good for small room...if you have time for it to warm up.
This heater works fine if you have a small room to heat and have a couple hours to wait for it to make a difference. I should have done more research and learned what convection heating (like this one) is all about. There is no warm air that blows from the heater unit, rather it just gets hot and the warm air rises from it. If you are looking for faster and more directed heat...I suggest a heater with a built-in fan.

Will keep a well insulated home/room very comfortable.
Because the digital sister model SLP3310 would not work with a timer, I returned the 3310 to the big box store where I bought it and bought on-line 2 of the SLP3300 for $60 each & free shipping. The 3300 is analog, with 2 rotary dials. The 3300 will come back on after a power outage, and it will work with a 3-prong, 1875 watt timer. I use the 'low' heat setting with the thermostat on a modest setting, in a 12 x 14 foot room with 8 foot ceilings, and it keeps my (well insulated) bedroom very, very comfortable. Although Sunbeam has a lousy reputation in electric blankets, this 3300 heater appears well made. Note, the 'high' setting could burn paint off a wall if positioned too close.

Buy something else
I bought this unit last year and it stopped working after a few months. You turn it on, it heats up for 3 minutes then shuts down. Save your money, buy something else, this product seems to have a high failure rate from what I have read online.

WindChaser Warm Brella Umbrella Electric Outdoor Halogen Patio Heater Model No. 3UPH

Great heater, but some design flaws.
When I saw this heater at the store a couple of years ago, I loved the idea of it. But when I went home and looked at our setup, I saw no space between the umbrella pole and the hole in the table to fit the cord, so I let it go. Then I recently received this as a gift. I was concerned about how I'd hook it up, but it was worth trying since we have some chilly evenings where we like to still sit outside. It was QUITE an adventure to get it set up. Our umbrella pole is a full 2" diameter....the max you can have with this heater. And the cord is t-h-i-c-k. It wouldn't fit in the tiny space left as the pole went thru the table hole so I had to rout out a groove in the wood umbrella pole so it would have a place to rest and not be pinched. Then there was the rest of the cord issues. The cord is only about 8-9' long and the instructions say to not use this with an extension cord. OK----good luck with that. Unless you have an outlet right under your table, that's not gonna happen...

Soleus Air HP1-15-50 Reflective Indoor/Outdoor Patio Heater

propane better
propane puts out 10x the heat. You have to stand right under it to feel a difference.

Great outdoor lamp, not so sure about heater
I'm 5'3 and when this is on full blast (both rings are turned on) I can barely feel anything. My husband who is 6'0 can feel the heat but only when he is standing right under it. All in all don't get this if you actually want it to keep you warm like a propane heater. The ups are that we dont have an outdoor light and this fell into the same price range as an outdoor lamp (actually cheaper). Its not super bright but gives off a nice glow so we can see (similar to candle light) outside at night and not be in the dark. It also doesn't need to be filled like a gas patio heater and it won't violate some fire codes (NYC you can't have any gas grills, heaters etc) but it certainly won't ease the cold.
Pros: Reasonably priced out door light, doesn't use a lot of energy
Cons: Barely gives off any heat at full blast

Soleus Outdoor Heater
Best Green Product to come out if you like the outdoors.
Instead of burining propane, this electrical outdoor heater that looks like a propane heater saves money, saves the enviroment, saves a headache of running out of propane and having to run to the store, and keeps you outside longer.

Also fits in my unbrella hole so you get 360 degrees of heat. Not as powerful as a propane heater, which I often find to be too powerful,
but perfect for the 45-60 degree night to sit on the deck.Soleus Air HP1-15-50 Reflective Indoor/Outdoor Patio Heater

Holmes HCH4954-U Whisper Quiet Twin Ceramic Heater

Quieter than most, but poor thermostat
I wanted a quiet heater to use in my den in the evening. I watch TV in this room and didn't want a noisy heater that competed with it, forcing me to raise and lower the volume to adjust for a noisy heater fan. This heater is the quietest fan-forced unit I've tried, and I've tried quite a few. The only heaters quieter than this one would be the micathermic or oil-filled models. The micathermic ones only heat up the area directly in front of the panel and not the whole room, and the oil filled heaters take way too long to heat up.
Now for the bad news......the digital thermostat. First off, the settings are in five degree increments, rather than one degree. If I set it for 65 the heater brings the room up to about 68 then shuts off. That's fine, but then the room will drop to 63 or 64 and the heater doesn't come back on. I'm either going to be hot or cold. If I set the unit to 70, after reaching 75 degrees it still runs----totally unacceptable. If Holmes improves the thermostat...

Good heater, unreliable perks
The heater portion of this unit performs admirably: fast heat generation, quiet fan - good for warming small to medium-sized rooms in a short amount of time. The heater does eat a fair amount of current - the manual rates it at around 13 to 14 amps, which may be a big deal if you're on a circuit with only a 15 amp breaker. It's also light and compact, so it's easy to carry from one room to another, and doesn't take up much space.

The downside is that some of the fancier features of this unit are unreliable - the oscillating base tends to bind and gnash gears, making a loud cracking sound. It also seeps oil from the base. Also, the digital thermostat is inaccurate, and has a tendency to lose calibration over several hours. I've purchased two of these heaters, and I've noticed all three problems with both.

As a space heater, it fits the bill well. But be advised that you may not get full use of the other features that you are paying for.

3 returns, all failed on low heat
I want to like this heater, it is so quiet. But, in thermostat mode on low heat, the unit shuts itself off and goes into reset mode, thinking it is overheating. What a shame, all 3 units failed miserably. Thermostat mode works fine on high heat, but I need low heat for a smaller space.

Holmes HCH4077-UM Ceramic Heater

Burst into Flames. Literally.
I've had this heater for about a year or so now. Used it for probably five or six hours per day, on the "low" setting.

Anyway, the thermostat started getting somewhat hard to turn about a month back, and I also noticed a glue-like substance had started to trickle down from the top, on the face of the grill covering. Thought nothing of it, as if maybe I'd spilled something on it.

Well, apparently, the unit has been slowly melting from within. Heard a "pop" today, and looked to my left to see the entire unit beginning to go up in flames; right in the middle of the room. (Thank God for hard-wood floors). Ran over and unplugged and the flames began to extinguish...

Called the 800 number, and they apologized, and said they would send a new one. Needles to say, I chose a different, hopefully more "house-friendly", model. They said it was the 1st report they had had of this issue. Doubting that seriously.

Anyway, I talked them into sending me a...

Was loud and immediately the fan broke...? In an Hour?
Its getting a bit chilly in the winter and we wanted a space heater just for the Master Bedroom. Specs are run of the mill and that all we needed, oscillating heater that's portable. We shopped at frys and skipped the DeLonghi and Vornado to save a buck. As I turned it on last night I thought to myself that this thing was a little bit loud and displayed different intermittent sounds (from fast to slow, then seemed like a ballbearing was not aligned) from the fan. I decided to turn it off after 1 hour. The next morning I brought the fan into the bath area to warm it up in the morning and after 5 minutes the fan stopped and then that unmistakeable burnt plastic smell presented itself. A bad buy just to save $20. I now have to take this piece of junk back and get what I should of bought in the first place. That being said this could've been a defective unit, which speaks for their quality assurance. I dont plan on buying a Holmes heater ever again as there are many other manufacturers...

This thing saved me from freezing!
My office is cold all year around. This this is on every single day. Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm. It works amazingly well. I've had it a little over two years. The knobs get a little hard to turn after awhile, but it works great. I can keep it under my desk or out in the middle of the office and it heats up the office quickly. I keep it on a low setting and it kicks on and off like a heater would at home. This is my favorite! I ordered one for my home recently too =)

Pro Com PCSD25T Free Standing Vent Free Stove with T-Stat Comfort Setting

Good unit
Good unit to warm up a seldom used area for the holidays. Since it is not vented I definitely recommend a dehumidifier be run at the same time, since propane contains a lot of water vapor when burning it tends to condense on any colder surface ( windows, doors, cold outside walls etc) The dehumidifier helps to cut the amt of condensation.

Holmes HFHVP2 1500 watt Compact Heater Fan 2-Pack

Well worth the money
I bought a pair of these in early 2011 for around $30 when I ran out of heating oil, and I was and still am amazed at how well they worked.

A year later, the same exact thing happened. The last of the oil burned up last night, and by this morning the temperature in my house was 58 degrees and falling. I turned on both of these fans to keep the house comfortable, and the temperature in the largest room in the house rose from 58 to a toasty 66 in about an hour and a half.

I would gladly have paid twice as much as I did for the results that these beastly little heaters produce. Considering it's been cheaper recently to use electric heat than it is to use oil heat, I've never been happier with a $30 purchase.

Thermostat Problems..... Did not get the room (300 Sq above 50 Degrees)
For some reason these Holmes 1500 watt thermostat did not work, and I bought a two pack.
Both did not work as they should.

The company did refund my money, so that was the only positive thing about buying this product.

I bought one about 1- 2 year ago, but will not buy Holmes product again....

Lasko Ceramic Tower Heater with Remote Control

Cheap alternative to central heating
I purchased this as an alternative to central heating, and found that this ceramic heater offered good performance for the price I paid.

Standing around 30" high, the Lasko 5365 saves a lot on floor space since it takes up more vertical space than horizontal space. Also because of this design, it can heat up more of the room at the same time.

One other thing I liked about this heater was the safety switch: as soon as you tip it over, the heater will shut itself off. If you immediately pull it back up, the heater turns back on. If it stays down or down at an angle, the heater will completely shut down. For a household with kids, this could be what saves the home from going up in flames.

The heater itself is quiet, and even though it does beep (when you turn it on, or switch modes etc.) the beep isn't obtrusive. I have another space heater which is very loud, so maybe I am making an unfair comparison.

The heater also has some other great...

Keeps me warm but not too toasty
I just recently moved to San Francisco, in the winter time. In order to save from a high heating bill, i searched high and low for a cheap alternative. THis brand is it. I was using a solarus sun heater...and it got too hot! This model oscillates is at a great height, and has a remote control and timer. It's everything you need to keep you warm at night.

warms up the room, but probably not great for light sleepers
I've been using this heater for almost a month now, and so far, it does a good job of keeping an average sized bedroom warm. I do, however, have a few cons when using this heater during the night.

Pros:
1. It has a remote control
2. It oscillates
3. The low setting is nice and quiet
4. It has a timer, so the unit will turn off after a certain number of hours (1-8 hours)
5. It has a thermostat setting, so it will try to keep the temperature you set it at by turning itself on if the current room temperature is 1 degree below the temp you want the room at, or turn off if the room is 3 degrees above the temp you want.
6. It has a good height. It's not one of those heaters that direct the heat to your feet first.

Cons:
1. Pressing any of the buttons gives out a pretty loud beep (or two, or three). If someone else is sleeping in the same room, he/she will most likely wake up from this sound, especially if they're a light sleeper...

Duraflame 10HM1342-O128 Infared Quartz Electric Room Heater Air Purifier Colby - Oak

So Far ... So Good
Well, we've only had this baby on three times so far, but she unpacked and rolled to her new home in the sun room very smoothly and heated the large area quickly and quietly. If the coming winter presents any problems I'll check back in. Perfect so far!

Good price for a good heater
I live up on a mountain where it quickly turns from summer to winter. My basement is almost completely underground and stays cold year round (great in the summer!) and the tile floor doesn't help to retain any heat. Basically the basement gets REAL cold in the winter. Thus far the heater works well to heat the 700sq ft area with 96" ceilings, but it can take some time to heat the entire area. Usually in an hour or two the room is heated and comfortable. I really enjoy the remote and the display. I did a large amount of research on electric heaters, and for your money, this is the best value.

Duraflame Quartz Heater
The Duraflame Quartz Heater has met or exceeded my expectations. Have large open space with 10 ft, ceilings and had been told
this would not heat such a large area. It is doing a very good job of back-up heat as I have an oil furnace which runs much less, saving expensive oil. My 80 year old husband is very sensitive to cold so this is an ideal solution to warm his area without raising the furnace thermostat to heat other areas. I have recommended it to other friends and family.

Comfort Zone CZ792BK Deluxe Milkhouse Electric Utility Heater, Black

dissatified ComfortZone purchaser
purchased heater in the spring. Tried it once and appeared to be OK. Now that cool weather is here, I tried it again and the unit does not work. Unable to find manufacturer on internet to find out where to have it repaired. Unable to find the company or any information about the unit. As I do not recall where I purchased the unit, no where to go to find out about service or warranty.

Does what I want it too.
Purchased in winter of 2009. I use to heat my insulated 20x17 garage, while I work on my vehicles or tinker with projects. It does a fine job. It takes about an hour or so to get the whole garage comfortable(65 degrees). I turn it on the 1500W setting to get up to the set temp, then turn down to 1300W setting and it kicks on and off to keep the temperature where it should be. If you're looking for a unit to keep a garage at a very warm temp(above 72 degrees)or warmer, you better have an unbelievebly well insulated area, and you definately need to spend more than $20. The safety tip over switch works very well has come in handy a few times.

Not Very Good
I purchased this heater about 5 months ago before it started getting cold. Once the cold set in I started using this unit and and the first few weeks were fine. About 4 weeks into using the heater it started turning off by itself and turning on again minutes later. Now its to the point where it turns off literally every other minute its on and it stays off for about 10 minutes. Needless to say its not doing its job as a heater and if I could return it I would.

SURE PAK COMPLETE MEALS WITH HEATER

Pleasant Surprise!
I bought these to have around, you know, just in case. I placed a couple in each of the vehicles for emergency use, and have some at home.
Thinking I should try one, I opened up a "chili-macaroni" dinner. Inside I found the entree, a package of flat-bread type crackers, a packet of spiced apples (similar to pie-filling, although a little thinner), a packet of strawberry jam, a fig cookie, a lime drink mix, and a condiment package containing instant coffee, sugar, creamer, salt, pepper, a napkin, and a spoon. Also included is the heating packet, which I used to heat the entree. The heating packet did the job with the entree, in fact I had to wait a few minutes before the package was cool enough to handle. I also believe there was enough heat left to have warmed up the apples as well. I found all the food to be very good. Not dinner out on Saturday night mind you but they were all tasty. No nasty surprises at all.
I feel that these will be perfect to have around to supplement...

Mr. Heater F270385 MH210KTR Contractor 210,000-BTU Forced-Air Kerosene Heater

After the "new" wears off
As like everyone else i was happy to have heat from this unit when first purchesed. Now only a year later all fuel line hoses have cracked which i have replaced with fuel lines that are rated for fuel not just cheap vacuum line cannot keep unit operational i am always pulling the main jet and blowing compressed air through which is a job to remove , flushed fuel tank, tried different fuels. As far as im concerned this is just more Chinese junk.Do not spend your hard earned money on this. I know people that have had their forced air heaters for more than a decade and have had no problems. I dont like to be negative about anything but when a company is not going to build a decent product people should know.

Good in the beginning......
For the first year, these guys were great. Quick starting, very hot. But after they sat for summer and we brought them back out, the problems started. First, like the other reviews say, they are not using proper fuel line in the heaters. As a result, after 1 year of kerosene, the fuel feed lines dried out and cracked, allowing air leaks = no ignition. So we had to replace all lines on both of our heaters. 1 year later, one of the heaters is completely dead. We visually inspected the circuit board and found a broken transistor. Mr. Heater is sending us a circuit board for no cost, but these heaters are far from maintenance free. We have 4 other VERY old heaters that keep going strong, year after year. I cant help but think these new generations are made with the cheapest materials possible. They get 3 stars, because there aren't that many options out there for kerosene jet heaters anymore, and when they do work they worked great

Mr Heater
I have 4 of these heaters which I have been using to keep buildings above freezing for about 4 years. While they have done the job, they have been very problematic. I have had several catch on fire. They seem to be very maintenance intensive. Ive been replacing filters and nozzles on them to try and keep them running. I probably need to replace the air pumps as well but thats more expensive. The hoses seem to be ok so far. Ive been using off road diesel fuel in them. Like the other person said you are basically happy just to have heat but these are not made like old forced air heaters Ive dealt with in the past. They put out alot of heat and keep the buildings from freezing so they do the job, you just have to keep up on the maintenance on them.

HLH4422M-WTM Convection Heater

Power switch broke on two separate units.
I bought two of these units last winter (2012-2013) and they put out great heat. This year I tried to turn one of them on and the power switch broke. It just twists without stopping, in a complete circle. No heat. A couple of days later the power switch also broke on the second unit. I'm not going to buy another Holmes brand heater again. I've also had many troubles with a series of Honeywells. Does anyone make a good inexpensive space heater?

World Marketing Of America Battery Siphon Pump 601Kwk Heater Accessories

good company/mediocre product
when it works, its great, but the battery cap fits loosely, so you have to work it around to get contact, like a really old flashlight. the company was quick and it arrived in short time. amazon should indicate country of manifacture for better buying decision

Lasted 1 season
I bought this product last year to put gas in my boat. I transfered 3 5gal containers at a time. Last year it worked fine. Go to use it this year, change the batteries and it won't work. Save your money I'm looking for something more durable.

crap
sorry but this was a 100% looser, didn't work as promised and also not for the liquids I wanted to use it in

Classic Flame 18EF010GAA INSERT ONLY. Fixed Front 18" Insert, No Remote

Delightful way out of an insurance problem
I attended a small community meeting in a neighbors 1830 town house where there was a charming fire in the fireplace. At the end of the 2 hour meeting I complimented the hosts on what a perfect fire. they'd made. They burst into laughter & said, "Come, look closely."
That's when I realized for the first time that the fire was artificial. I had been convinced the log fire was real.
The next day those neighbors surprised me with a gift of my first Classic Flame Insert for my 1840 house, nearby, in which there were 7 fireplaces. It was an instant hit & used nightly, just for the charm of it.
Incidentally, some months later my insurance company informed me that they would no longer cover damages resulting from the use of real fires, unless I had the fireplaces & flues lined with stainless steel. A quick check revealed it would cost over $5,000 per fireplace to do that. What about my rental apartments & the tenants fireplaces?
I explained the situation, that real...

DeLonghi HS15F Safe Heat Convection Heater

Great heater
I bought this heater over 2 years ago, have used it on a regular basis since day one, and it's still going strong. My apartment is pretty cold and the only other heat source I have is electric baseboard, which is WAY too expensive to use, so this little heater is my main source of warmth. I love it and would recommend it to anyone!

Not adequate !
I was disappointed with the quality of this heater, it produced very little forced air and did not heat the room that way I hoped. Not usually typical with Delonghi products to not be efficient.

Total Garbage!
Save your money... this heater is NOT safe at all. It actually gets very hot to the touch, emits some type of chemical smell when first used, and did not warm my living room at all. To top it all, the quality of this heater is very poor. I returned it and bought a Vornado whole-room vortex heater-- which stays cool AND heats the entire living room perfectly (for the same price).

Honeywell HZ-315 Ceramic Heater

Waste of $
This heater blew a fuse twice in my office, causing my coworkers' computers to shut down and lose unsaved information. The darn thing comes on for 2 seconds every 5 minutes so I'm constantly cold. I would recommend one where you can change the fan setting to go at all times on low without the thermostat stepping in and ruining a good warmth. Also, doesn't turn off unless you unplug it so I have to crawl under my desk everytime I leave the office. No fun. Want to return but it's too much of a hassle.

No Safety Devices....No on/off switch
While this little heater creates heat it isnt what I wanted at all. First of all I realized that it has no safety features. If it tips over unto the rug, it just keeps going! A real fire hazard. Also also the front heat control knob says "off" you cant really turn it off without pulling the plug out of the wall, rather inconvenient. And as one of the reviewers mentioned its a real drain on a circuit, throwing the circuit breaker in the first day of use. Last year I bought a Pelonis for less and it was far better.

exactly what I wanted
I work in a large office where the temp. is fixed and is always too cold. This heater works perfectly under my desk to keep me toasty. It is very quiet and it stays cool so that I don't have to worry about the noise or fire hazards. I would recomend this to anyone in a cold office. I even ordered a second one for my mother.

Dr. Infrared Heater DR-998 1500 Watt Infrared Heater Humidifer/Air Purifier/Fan + Remote

Dr. Infrared Heater
I did not have good luck with the heater. The Humidifer only worked one time. The heater does not warm an area as well as a heater of the same size that I bought after this one. I plan to use it in a small bedroom that is not used much.

Disappointed to the enth degree. Don't waste your money!!!
The heater, as advertised, doesn't come ANYWHERE near heating 1000 sq ft. If you don't have it on high and facing you within 4-6 feet you do not feel the heat at all. In fact when the heater is on high for hours it has virtually no effect in our 12X12 living room unless it is directly in front of you. Went for the DR-998 for the Fan/Humidifier feature - big mistake here also. As for the humidifier, a 16oz bottle of water would probably last less than two hours (haven't proved that but venture to say I'm not far off) which makes the feature worthless. All that considered, the fan feature is a mute topic. Feel deceived into spending a lot of money for a useless piece of equipment. As of this review, I would NOT recommend your product to anyone!!!

Holmes Fan Forced Pivoting Heater

No heat!
This is the worst heater ever. I have a very small room that can only fit a full size bed and dresser and this heater didn't even almost warm it up. In fact it made it colder. When you get about 7 inches in front of the heater, you feel nothing. No heat of any kind. Within 10 minutes of having this heater on, my room went from about 70 degrees to about 67. To say I'm upset is putting it lightly. Especially when you pay $50.00 for something thats not even worth $10. I will be returning this and looking at maybe a oil filled heater but I wouldn't recommend this even to my worst enemies. So now me and my 3 year old will have to wait 2 more days until we get our new heater. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM!

Sun Cloud Solar Comfort KD8000 Portable Infrared Heater, Basic Metal Frame Ho...

KD8000 Portable Heater
This product was delivered on time, no broken or missing parts and packaged well. Instructions were clear and product was easy to put together. Product produces a good amount of heat and in my opinion does use less electricity. I do not feel that product is able to heat the area claimed in the advertisement. All in all I am pleased with the purchase.

Perhaps 600 insulated square feet
I have a 200 square foot poorly insulated space (its a solarium addition ie three walls of double paned glass). I figured with the claims of being able to heat 600 sq feet this unit would more than compensate for all the windows. NOPE had to return it. I purchased four (ugly) baseboard units and that did the trick.

Oh Boy: Another Crappy Yet Expensive Electric Space Heater
There is most obviously a lot of money to be made off of people who are just convinced that you always get what you pay for... in this case, four hundred bucks just HAS to result in amazing comfort at mere pennies a day to operate. Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news... well, no, that's not exactly correct... I actually get a kick out of debunking these stupid things... but, this heater is not magical. There isn't a little leprechaun or genie inside of it that spits out heat for nothing. And yet, this is what the seller would have you believe. Let's take a look at their product description line by line:

"The Solar Comfort has lower operating and maintenance costs." Compared to what? This is a throwaway line. Since there is no qualifying statement it is meaningless. Calling it "Solar" is stupid too, by the way.

"There is only one moving part, the fan motor, and is equipped with quality trouble free controls." They toss this out there as if this is a...

The Sharper Image Floor/Tabletop Ceramic Heater

skip it!
This ceramic heater was too big for use as a "table top". The photo that is shown with this heater used as a table top next to a lap top is misleading! Also, it's very loud. There were 2 settings. Lo and Hi. Both were equally loud. Lastly, the product looked cheap...for the price that was paid.

Sometimes they go off
First off, no way this was made for a table top. Too big. It heats quickly, and works well for a very small area, but it's extremely noisy. Also, if you let it run too long, it makes a funny noise and goes off. You have to unplug it and wait awhile (a couple hours?) and then if you're lucky it will go back on. Apparently, Sharper Image ain't what it used to was.

Sengoku Heat Mate Portable Radiant Kerosene Heater 10,600 BTU , Beige #HMHR-1101

No problem here!
I've been using this heater for several years and have had no problems whatsoever. About 1/2 the heat is radiant, the other half is hot air rising from the unit.

It will burn for 12 to 14 hours before having to refill its 1-gallon removable tank. During this time, it emits no smell at all. The heat adjustment range is from 90% to 100% - like any kerosene heater, it is not safe to try to turn it down below this range.

The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because the electric lighter bulb burns out too easily - it is like a flashlight bulb without the glass bulb - when you press the igniter, the bulb's glowing filament presses against the wick, igniting it - if the wick doesn't break the filament. In this case, a long wand butane lighter works just fine.

It is true that the very first time a kerosene heater is lit, it will stink. Once the burner has come up to operating temperature for the first time, the metal parts become annealed and ready for...

Very nice and good heat.
I bought this heater for my bedroom. When it arrived I unpacked it and there was a small dent on the edge of the case. It should be packed in another box instead of shipping it in the original packaging. Those Shipping Companies throw these boxes around loading and unloading to put on the delivery trucks. The first night it was smelly. The next night the smell was gone. It burns clean now and uses very little kerosene. Light it outside the first time. It says in the directions that there is an oil that takes three to four hours to burn off. It will heat up to four rooms at night. It throws out plenty of heat. The other guy that wrote that it smelled probably used the wrong type of kerosene or just didn't know how to use it. Believe me it is well worth the money. Use only K-1 kerosene

Does not last very long, don't buy it
This is only my second year for this heater and I have many problems.with the wick adjustor knob.
I will have to buy another one next year and it won't be this brand. No customer service to help,
I called the number on the manual and received an answering machine that has not called back!

Dimplex CS4416 Compact Electric Stove

Solves heating problems
I use two oil-filled heaters to heat my living room, dinning room and kitchen, which is an open area without walls with an area of about 600 sq ft. There were a few problems with this method. Oil-filled heaters take a long time to heat a large area and all the heat goes straight up. The Dimplex heater solved these problems.

In the morning it would take two or three hours to raise the temperature by 3 or 4 degrees. I replaced one of the oil-filled heaters with the Dimplex. Now, it takes half the time to get the house warm. Another advantage of the Dimplex is that it has a quite fan that gently blows the heat from the bottom onto the floor. Before it was very warm in the house, but the floor was like ice. Now, the heat is more evenly distributed and the floor is much warmer. I can feel the heat on the floor from over ten feet away.

The thermostat, which is just a round knob without any markings, does a good job at regulating the heat. You turn the knob up on high...

This thing works - and looks great!
Really trying to cut down on the oil use this year, so we're adding a couple of electric heaters. I got this for the den/tv room which is a decent size, but fairly well-enclosed. This thing is so easy to use, the flame looks great (kind of bizarre actually - I forget it's fake) and in a short time it really heats the whole room quite comfortably. They say it's very economical to run (I'll see), but for the cost of about a quarter tank of oil - it's great!

Not bad
Quite a bit cheaper to run than my gas wall furnace and the flames look real enough. The only problem is that the motor that makes the flames move died after about two months and acehardwareoutlet only takes returns for 30 days after purchase. Anyway, Dimplex/Electralog is sending a new motor for free since they don't take returns at all and perhaps I'll have better luck this time. So if you're not comfortable with the idea of installing your own replacement parts you might want to find another option.

UPDATE:
Alright, the motor came in about 2 weeks and was a 15 rpm motor as opposed to the 10 rpm motor that was originally installed so the flame effect is a bit faster now but still fairly realistic. It took maybe an hour to install and isn't something I'd want to do every two months so I'm hoping that this one lasts a bit longer. I'll keep my review updated as conditions warrant but for now I'm happy to report that my 4416 is back in 100% working order and pumping out...

Stelpro SK1501W Electric Ceiling Heater Air Curtain - with Free Wall Mounted Thermostat

bathroom ceiling heater
This fan is okay. It warms a cold, marble bathroom on a cold morning. I would expect that the fan would allow directional changes via a baffle but it does not. It was installed in an area of the bathroom ceiling that could accommodate it - if the direction of the warming could be adjusted it would be all that much better. If only I had known to look for that as an option -- don't know if I'd have found a product that could direct the heat. It was hard enough to find something that would just heat a medium sized bathroom.

Lakewood 205 1320 Watt Fan Forced Radiant Heater

Crappy Design, but heated well
Right out of the box, this heater made a extremely loud noise. It sounded like the fan was bad by the loud clicking.

I took it apart to find out that the fan was ok, but the wiring wasn't secured in any way and it was actually being hit by the fan. Would have been a matter of time had it been left running before the wires insulation whittled down and exposed the wires causing a short and possible spark/fire.

On top of that, the little red button on the face was broken off.

As far as heating, it was good.

if you want heat..this is what you want
If you are looking for heat..this is the heater you want. Yes, it makes some noise, but nothing more than a large fan. It has a sensor on it, and anything that moves or topples the heater, will cause it to turn off.

I have had this heater from my dorm room to my large apt bed room (4 years) and its doing great, keeping me warm and the heating bills down.

Cons: Can be noisy..(expected considering how much heat it puts out and how large of an area it can cover)

Pros: AWESOME HEAT (even in large areas)

Constantly turns off!
This heater is worthless. I have it on all day at the hightest setting about 6 inches from my legs and it still can't keep me warm. The problem is it runs for about 30 seconds to 2 minutes then it turns off. Waits about 3 minutes then it turns on again. Same pattern all day. I'm buying another and tossing this in the recycle. I wouldn't give this to my worst enemy.

Spend your money elsewhere, but definitely not on this piece of crap.

Bionaire BCH7302 Oscillating Ceramic Tower Heater Eco-Smart Feature For Energy Efficient Heating

A Little Disappointed
Compact, quiet, clean heat. The oscillating feature is very nice. I would have rated it 5 stars but for one thing: it has a temp setting and supposedly a thermostat so the unit can be set from 65 to 85 degrees in 5 degree increments. It flat doesn't work. I can set it for 65 degrees and it will just keep putting out heat until the room is 80 degrees. Called Bionaire and they told me it's defective. They offered to replace it for free which is nice, but "not until September. Heater season is over. Call us back in September."

Thermostat isnot reliable
It does heat the room, but the thermostat isn't reliable. Not only inaccurate, it also stops functioning entirely if left on one settings for too long. We bought a different heater and this is now our backup.
